Queens Park Rangers’ poor run of results continued on Saturday when they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Southampton at home in the Premier League.
Rangers headed into the game at Loftus Road without a full-time manager following the resignation of Harry Redknapp last week due to health problems.
The London outfit had also lost 3-1 away from home to Stoke City prior to this game, which saw them maintain their unenviable record of losing all matches on the road.
QPR, though, did step up their game against Southampton at Loftus Road on Saturday and gave the high-flying Saints a run for their money.
In the end, though, it did not prove to be enough, as Ronald Koeman’s side picked up all three points with a narrow 1-0 win.
Sadio Mane scored the only goal of the encounter in the 93rd minute to break the hearts of the Rangers fans.
After the match, QPR forward Mauro Zarate, currently on loan from West Ham United, took to social networking site Twitter to rue the team’s “bad luck” against the Saints.
Earlier today, defender Rio Ferdinand, who moved to Rangers on a free transfer in the summer of 2014 after leaving Manchester United, also gave his thought on the result and looked ahead to the next game.

QPR are currently second from bottom in the Premier League table with 19 points from 24 matches, two points behind 17th-placed Burnley.
The R’s will return to league action on Tuesday when they take on Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
