Will QPR ever win again?
That may be being a little melodramatic - they probably will. But where exactly will their spark of inspiration come from?
On Saturday afternoon, the R's produced an astute display against a high-flying Southampton side. That was until Nedum Onuoha decided to completely lose Sadio Mane, with the Saints forward duly slotting home late on to secure three points for Ronald Koeman's traveling side.
Onuoha was then involved as QPR almost equalised - well, they did but it was disallowed. The 28-year-old's primary job, however, is to defend. And that he didn't do against Southampton.
Naturally, Onuoha's display was picked up on on Twitter after the game, with QPR fans generally slating the defender for his contribution. Whatever else came before it, it was his ineptitude for the winning goal that defined his display, with some R's supporters noting that he is costing his side goals all too often.
QPR fans also prefer Onuoha at centre-back not right-back - and will hope that is addressed against Sunderland on Tuesday night. That game provides yet another crunch clash for the west London side. But, having lost every single away game so far this term, the odds are stacked against them...
QPR's loss, meanwhile, was Southampton's gain. Here's the best Twitter reaction to Onuoha's display...
Hate to say but every time we've played Onuoha he cost us a goal/game that's 100% an area which we should be assessing #QPR— Kris Gyuge (@LoftusKris) February 8, 2015
Wretched attempt at defending by Onuoha for the goal. Ball watching, wrong side, hopeless. #qpr— QPRnet (@qprnet) February 7, 2015
For crying out loud. Basic defending Onuoha, get goal side. #QPR— Simon Knights (@SimonKnights) February 7, 2015
