The former Manchester United and Liverpool striker expects the Premier League encounter to be “entertaining” and to have at least three goals.
“Two wins and six goals scored by United this week but I think they will find the Irons a tough nut to crack at the Boleyn Ground,” the 35-year-old wrote on Betvictor.com.
“Sam Allardyce will be hoping his side can bounce back from a disappointing performance at Anfield last weekend and this promises to be an entertaining game.”
A footnote added: “Michael’s recommendation: Over 2.5 goals at 39/40”.
Can West Ham win?
West Ham have struggled for wins in the New Year and are gradually slipping away from the top four.
At the moment Sam Allardyce’s side are eighth in the Premier League table with 36 points from 23 matches, seven points behind fourth-placed United.
The Hammers will head into today’s encounter on the back of a 2-0 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield and will be determined to bounce back.
Winning against a United side who are picking up points without playing exceptionally well will not be easy for West Ham, but given that they are playing at home and have a genuinely good team should give them confidence.
