Leeds United youngster Eoghan Stokes: Manchester United’s Radamel Falcao is ‘ridiculously overrated’

Falcao Sir Alex

Leeds United prospect Eoghan Stokes was not impressed with Radamel Falcao’s performance for Manchester United against West Ham United in the Premier League on Sunday.

Leeds United youngster Eoghan Stokes has made a bold comment about Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao on social networking site Twitter.

Following United’s 1-1 draw with West Ham United away from home in the Premier League on Sunday, Stokes claimed that Falcao is “ridiculously overrated”.

Is Falcao overrated?

Falcao has been struggling for form and fitness all season, and he continued to misfire against the Hammers at the Boleyn Ground.

The Colombia international was quiet in the first half and did not show good movement, while also missing a good chance.

The 28-year-old ended the game with stats of four shots, pass accuracy of 79%, one chance created, two dribbles attempted and two clearances made.

Given his performances this season, it looks like Falcao is past his best - at least he is far from it. The former River Plate star does not look productive in front of goal and often fails to connect with his teammates.

Stokes is perhaps going overboard with his comment that Falcao is “ridiculously overrated”. After all, a quick glance at his record at FC Porto and Atletico Madrid would dismiss all doubts on his supreme quality.

However, the Falcao who has been playing for United this campaign, is not the player he was two years ago. He is now a mere shadow of his former self.
