Former West Ham talent Ben Sheaf signs professional deal at Arsenal

The central midfielder has agreed to start his pro career at Arsenal.

Arsenal have signed one of their top young talents to his first professional deal at the club, after announcing this weekend that Ben Sheaf had signed a deal with the club.

The central midfielder was snapped up in the summer from Premier League and London rivals West Ham. The deal, which was described as a ‘raid’ by The Metro, went through in July and since then he has lived up to the potential he demonstrated at West Ham.

He has played 12 times in the Under-18 Premier League whilst he has also featured in the FA Youth Cup and UEFA Youth League. The professional deal was signed after he turned 17 earlier in the week and the player will surely now look to push into the Under-21 team in the future.

Sheaf was snapped signing his new deal with an arm on the shoulder from Arsenal’s head of academy development Andries Jonker.

With the right nurturing from the Dutchman the talented England youth international could very well be the latest in a long line of talents to come through the Arsenal ranks into the first-team.
