Cabella, Abeid react on Twitter to Newcastle draw, focus on Palace clash

St James Park

The Newcastle United duo reflected on their side's 1-1 draw with Stoke City.

Newcastle duo Remy Cabella and Mehdi Abeid took to Twitter to reflect on their 1-1 draw with Stoke City on Sunday afternoon.

And the duo are now looking ahead to their reunion with former boss Alan Pardew, when Newcastle face Crystal Palace later this week.

Against Stoke, Jack Colback's second-half strike gave the Magpies a lead that looked to have given them all three points.

But Peter Crouch's late header secured a point for the Potters and 22-year-old Abeid, in particular, felt Newcastle deserved more from the game.

Both he and Cabella, though, are keen to put the disappointment behind them when they travel to Crystal Palace on Wednesday night.

Newcastle remain 11th in the Premier League after their Stoke draw, who sit a place above them.

Crystal Palace trail the Magpies by five points but could reduce that gap to just two should they beat John Carver's side at Selhurst Park.

That clash, of course, will be Pardew's first against Newcastle since leaving St James' Park to join Palace.

What an occasion it promises to be - and the Eagles are in much finer form than Pardew's former team at the minute...
