A former Tottenham Hotspur manager has congratulated the current man in charge at White Hart Lane.
Harry Kane is the toast of White Hart Lane right now, after the 21-year-old’s brace in the North London derby secured three points for Tottenham and saw them leap-frog the Gunners in the Premier League table.
Ardiles was clearly one of many impressed by Spurs’ performance, as he wrote, “Congratulations to Mauricio Pochettino, all the staff and of course the players for a wonderful display of football yesterday.”
As a former Tottenham player himself, Ardiles knows how to earn the adulation of the club’s supporters on the pitch, while he has both played and managed in one of the most fiercely-contested derbies in the game.
Tottenham’s latest performance suggests the only way is up for a squad full of promising youngsters who could grow into one of the best sets of players in the country in time.
And while fans should not get ahead of themselves, the likes of Kane, Christian Eriksen, Nabil Bentaleb and Ryan Mason suggest there is a core of real talent that will be inspiring more derby wins in the future.
