Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish looks ahead to today’s North London derby between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal at White Hart Lane.

Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has explained in The Mirror why Arsenal will not be scared of Tottenham Hotspur.

Arsenal will be the visitors for the North London derby against Tottenham today, as the two teams resume hostilities in the Premier League.

The Gunners will head into the game on the back of a 5-0 victory over Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium last weekend.

Arsene Wenger’s side have won their last five games in all competitions, but it is their victory over Manchester City at the Etihad Stadum last month which has led to Dalglish claiming that Arsenal will have no fears on Saturday.

“They go to Spurs on Saturday for the North London Derby on the back of an impressive run, but, more importantly, on that result at Manchester City last month,” the Liverpool great wrote in The Mirror.

“It was a huge win, and the most commendable thing about it was it probably goes against the grain for them to play that way – they got organised, got behind the ball and worked out something that worked.

“They won’t fear Tottenham because of that result in Manchester, even though Mauricio Pochettino’s side have been performing impressively themselves. That style Arsenal showed at Man City was not a one-off. It’s not the first time I’ve seen them do it.

Can Arsenal repeat Manchester City heroics?

The performance against City was arguably Arsenal’s best this season, and since then they have won against Brighton & Hove Albion away from home and against Villa at the Emirates.

It will be interesting to see whether the Gunners can repeat that performance against one of the better teams in the Premier League.

Tottenham themselves are on a great run of form and will be confident of winning in front of a strong White Hart Lane crowd.

The match against Spurs will be very tough for Arsenal and also quite different, largely due to the intense rivalry between the two teams.

Arsenal can certainly win at White Hart Lane, but the players need to be at their very best.
