Tottenham 2-1 Arsenal: Kane double fires Spurs to victory

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Arsenal 2-1 on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur earned far more than bragging rights when they defeated Arsenal 2-1 in the North London derby on Saturday afternoon.

Two goals from Harry Kane sealed the victory, after German international Mesut Ozil had put the Gunners ahead in the first half.

That goal came just 11 minutes into the encounter, netting from close range, but in a scintillating encounter Tottenham ultimately came out on top.

Kane levelled the scores after Mousa Dembele had flicked on from a corner and the England under-21 international later headed in the winner, to send Mauricio Pochettino’s side ahead of Arsenal in the table.

There is still a lot of football to be played but Tottenham are on the up at just the right time while Arsenal will be left to lick their wounds before going again.

In a match when both sides gave their all, neutrals may say it a shame either side won, but Tottenham fans will have no such thoughts, elated as they are to beat their fierce rivals in brilliant style.
