Celtic fans react on Twitter to James Forrest performance v Dundee

The wide man struggled to have a significant impact against Dundee.

Celtic are through to the quarter finals of the Scottish Cup after a comfortable, if not unexciting, 2-0 triumph over Dundee at Dens Park.

Goals from Leigh Griffiths and Stefan Johansen proved enough on the day for The Bhoys to book their place in the next round, but the Celtic fans, most of them anyway, were not impressed with one of their players.

James Forrest recently came on in the Old Firm cup win against Rangers, which was his first game since the start of January. Forrest had been out injured for the past month and his return was one that was met with mixed feelings by Celtic fans.

Many do not feel he has come on since showing remarkable early promise as a teenager. He has had troubles with back problems and his form has also suffered so the reaction to his display was always going to be mixed.

On the whole, most Celtic fans were unimpressed. He struggled to get a foothold in the game and was taken off in the 73rd minute. Some fans backed him up, reminding others of his injury woe and lack of match practice, but most supporters are looking forward to seeing Gary Mackay-Steven bump Forrest down the Celtic pecking order.

Here is some of the best reaction...
