The England midfielder is hoping Arsenal can win the North London derby today without him.
Arsenal and Tottenham face off in the North London derby this afternoon as they both aim to take the bragging rights in North London.
Both teams are also chasing the top four spots in the Premier League, adding extra spice to an already heated encounter.
The England international is still recovering from ankle surgery so will not feature in the game. He picked up the injury in a challenge with Manchester United’s Paddy McNair in November, and it is the latest in a long line of injuries to the joint suffered by the young man.
The midfielder is of course a massive Gooner off the pitch as well as on it, so will be supporting his team-mates when they take on Spurs at The Emirates in the early afternoon kick-off.
He has even Tweeted ahead of the game. After delighting in the rugby union win from England over their arch-rivals Wales he is hoping that his team can do the same against Spurs this afternoon.
