Arsenal's star man is out of the North London derby this weekend, and supporters of rivals Tottenham have taken delight in the team news.
Arsenal have been left disappointed by the news Alexis Sanchez has been ruled out of the North London derby.
The Gunners announced via their official website that the Chilean international had not recovered from the hamstring strain which caused him to miss the match with Aston Villa last weekend.
Arsenal thrashed their opponents 5-0 without him, but this week face on paper a more resilient Tottenham side who are just two points behind them in the Premier League table.
The news Sanchez will miss the clash at White Hart Lane has naturally been well received by supporters of Arsenal's bitter rivals.
Sanchez has scored or assisted 19 goals for Arsenal this season, the joint highest in the Premier League alongside Chelsea's Diego Costa.
Looking at the players from the two teams on show this weekend, Sanchez stands out head and shoulders above the rest and despite Santi Cazorla's excellent form, he is a prominent absentee.
The Gunners still have a team packed with stars, notably Theo Walcott who has a proven track record of finding the net against Spurs, netting twice against them last season.
Here's how Spurs fans reacted to the news Sanchez will miss the derby, with a mix of mockery, distrust, and added confidence...
