The game against fierce rivals Liverpool will be Lukaku’s 100th in the Premier League, a staggering feat for someone who is yet to reach his 22nd birthday.
The forward has already featured in Merseyside derbies before now, having scored twice in his first taste of the fixture last season during a scintillating 3-3 draw at Goodison Park.
Now, his manager Martinez is anticipating that the Belgian will be keen to mark the occasion with a goal and continue his recent good form.
"He is only 21 but he could mark his 100th game in the Premier League at the weekend, which is an incredible figure,” Martinez told Everton's official website. “He's in a moment where he is enjoying his football and is really infectious in the way we want to play.”
Lukaku already has 10 goals to his name this season, which is one more than he had at this stage last time around, despite many suggesting that he has struggled since move from Chelsea in the summer.
However, he now has three goals in his last five games, and his manager is backing him to continue that fine form when he leads the line once again in Saturday’s late kick off and hopefully get another goal in the process.
"He already has a goal more than this time last year and he's a player that is going to grow,” added Martinez. “We want to grow with him to reach our full potential. I'm very pleased in the way he has been adapting in a demanding season in different roles."
