With a season-long loan agreed at the start of the campaign, there is no way he will return to St Mary’s Stadium before the end of this term, and Inter and Southampton are attempting to finalise a deal to keep him on loan somewhere until the end of the season.
During the transfer window Premier League side QPR were said to have agreed a move for Osvaldo - as per TMW - although the player turned the league strugglers down. The 29-year-old was reportedly waiting on a move to Juventus, although the Italian giants never showed an interest in him, and he remained with Inter at the closing of the transfer window.
Following those rumours, it was TMW who also reported that Argenitne club Boca Juniors were looking to sign him for the second half of the season, with Osvaldo also said to be keen on that move due to having been born in the Buenos Aires area and being a Boca fan. That move seemed to be on the cards, but it has yet to come to fruition - with a number of days remaining in the Argentinian transfer window - and a new report has suggested that Osvaldo could be set for a transfer to a rather different country.
Once again, TMW claimed that Egyptian side Al-Ahly are leading the race for his signature, and have already submitted an offer to Inter, with just the player having to decide on whether he wants to turn out for the African club.
