Photos: Shaun Wright-Phillips in first-team training - time to shine without Harry?

The Queens Park Rangers star was pictured in training - can he thrive without the man who was supposedly holding him back?

Last month, when Harry Redknapp was still very much in charge at QPR, the 67-year-old accused Shaun Wright-Phillips of wanting to sit on his contract at Loftus Road.

Leaving the R's would have been the right thing to do, argued Redknapp, but Wright-Phillips was unwilling to go.

The winger duly hit back - and so did his father Ian Wright. Now, Redknapp is no more at QPR, having resigned earlier this week.

So can Wright-Phillips finally get his career back on track?

At 33, the winger doesn't appear to have all that many years left in him, making every passing game vital. QPR's lacklustre season so far needs no more description - but could bringing an outcast supposedly desperate to play back into the fold provide them with the injection of urgency they just may need?

Wright-Phillips was pictured in training on Friday afternoon, along with a number of other QPR stars, one of which finds himself in a similar situation. Indeed, Adel Taarabt might just be chomping at the bit now that Redknapp has left the R's.

There's opportunity aplenty, then, for those who want it in west London. Here are the best photos from training ahead of QPR's clash with Southampton...
