Newcastle United manager John Carver has tipped Remy Cabella to become a favourite with the club’s fans in the Chronicle.
Cabella was superb during the win against Hull City last weekend and the manager has revealed that his performance was the result of a lot of hard work.
“If he keeps those performances going he’s got a bright future at this football club,” said Carver.
“If he can our fans will love him.”
Cabella has now set the standard for himself and he has to prove that he can reach that standard on a consistent basis.
The majority of fans just want to see the players representing their club on a weekly basis going all out in terms of hard work and effort.
If Cabella can show those qualities and produce the sort of attacking displays and goals he showed against Hull over a long period of time, there’s no reason he can’t become a club legend.
However, he’s got a long way to go before he fall into that bracket and it depends on his longevity at the club.
The job for Carver is to keep him motivated and to keep him playing consistently.
He has to judge when to step in if he feels Cabella is taking his eye off the ball and when to leave him alone and let him prove himself.
If the boss and the player get the balance right, Newcastle have a special player on their books.
