Jamie Carragher has told Sky Sports that he expects Liverpool to win against Everton in the Merseyside derby on Saturday.
Everton will host Carragher’s former club Liverpool at Goodison Park in the Premier League.
The Toffees will head into the game placed 12th in the league table with 26 points from 23 matches, just seven points above the relegation zone.
Meanwhile, Liverpool are seventh in the standings with 38 points from 23 games, only four points behind fourth-placed Southampton.
Liverpool legend Carragher believes that Brendan Rodgers’s side will win the Merseyside outfit, but expects it to be close.
“There will be goals in this,” the 37-year-old former England international told Sky Sports. “It is a difficult one to call, but I am siding with Liverpool as they are in better form.”
Will Carragher’s prediction true?
As Carragher suggests, Saturday’s Merseyside derby is indeed tough to call and could go either way.
However, Liverpool will be favourites to win. With star striker Daniel Sturridge back from a long-term injury and already among the goals, the Reds will be high in confidence at the moment.
The Reds are in a good run of form as well, but playing at home will give Everton an advantage which they will be looking to make the most of.
