Ex-Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur star Pat Jennings: Hugo Lloris is Premier League’s best goalkeeper

Former Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Pat Jennings sings the praises of Hugo Lloris.

Pat Jennings has told The Sun that Tottenham Hotspur star Hugo Lloris has been the best goalkeeper in the Premier League so far this season.

France international Lloris is a key player for Spurs and has been hugely important in their challenge for a top-four finish in the Premier League this campaign.

In 23 Premier League appearances so far this term, the 28-year-old has kept six clean sheets and has made 2.65 saves on an average in each game.

“For me there’s only been one goalkeeper this season: Hugo Lloris,” Jennings told The Sun. “He has been absolutely brilliant, week in week out. He has made unbelievable world-class saves that have kept Tottenham in games, like last week against West Brom.

“His mistakes you could count this season on less than one hand. Keeping him has to be the No1 priority. Everyone loves him at the club. They think the world of him. Hopefully he will be there for years to come.”

Lloris has been on the books of Tottenham since 2012 and is arguably the only world-class player in the current squad.

Earlier this week, Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino insisted that the Frenchman will not leave the club in the summer and was quoted as saying by The Sun: “It is very difficult for a club to get him because he is happy here.”

It is great to see Lloris getting the recognition that he truly deserves. Perhaps the fact that the former Nice star does not play in the Champions League counts against them.
