Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour has revealed what he feels Tottenham Hotspur have to be excited about at the moment.
Former Arsenal star Ray Parlour told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show for talkSPORT yesterday that he feels Tottenham Hotspur have plenty to be excited about.
Tottenham are preparing for a huge North London derby game against Arsenal this weekend and Parlour feels they’ve got a lot going for them across all competitions at the moment.
“I think there’s a lot for Tottenham to be excited about – They’re well placed in the League, have the Europa League and they’re in a League Cup final,” he said.
The Premier League is arguably the club’s priority at the moment because of the importance of getting into the Champions League.
If they can achieve that goal, it will be interesting to see what sort of players the club can attract next summer and how the extra cash benefits the club.
The Europa League is also important because it represents a way into the Champions League.
However, Spurs have a very difficult game in the next round against Fiorentina, which will test their resolve and the tactical intelligence of Mauricio Pochettino.
The League Cup is arguably the club’s best chance of winning some silverware this season.
Chelsea are the opponents, which means a very difficult final, but Spurs showed in the last meeting between the clubs what they’re capable of against the Blues.
Parlour has definitely got a point.
