The Spanish forward is on loan at Sevilla and has scored twice in two games, including a strike against Real Madrid last night.
Liverpool have had issues in the final third this season following the departure of Luis Suarez in the summer and injury to Daniel Sturridge.
One man that is seemingly surplus to requirements at Anfield currently is Iago Aspas, who has been farmed out on loan to Sevilla.
The Spaniard failed to make any real impression in his debut campaign at the Merseyside club in 2013-14, starting only five Premier League games and failing to score.
Aspas has struggled for a starting role at his new club also, with Carlos Bacca the main man in attack for the Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan outfit.
However, the 27-year-old has scored two notable goals in his last two games.
Firstly Aspas scored an 89th minute winner for Sevilla against Espanyol at the weekend in a thrilling 3-2 clash - it was also the attacker’s first start of the La Liga season.
The Liverpool loanee also came off the bench last night at the Santiago Bernabeu to score against Real Madrid in a 2-1 defeat.
With the Reds not entirely convincing in the final third this season, Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to react to Aspas’ improved run of form in Spain.
At least one Liverpool legend has scored tonight. #Aspas— Aakriti Mehrotra (@Aakriti1) February 4, 2015
