Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Emre Can performance against Bolton

Liverpool's Emre Can had a decent game as his team defeated Bolton in the FA Cup replay last night.

Liverpool showed impressive resolve to come back and win the FA Cup replay against Bolton last night, with a late goal from Philippe Coutinho putting the side through to the next round.

The team spirit showed by Liverpool late in the game was impressive and that unity will do some good for the side over the rest of the season as they look to progress in the cup and retain their Champions League place for next season.

One of the most impressive performers last night was Emre Can, who continues to settle and perform well in a defensive role across the club’s backline and in midfield.

Can’s versatility for Liverpool has been impressive this season and he has many attributes, which mean he’s well suited to a role in Liverpool’s defence over his more experienced role as a holding midfielder.

Can is an imposing player and that makes him difficult for any opposition player to get the better of.

He has a good core strength which makes him difficult to get the better of physically for players when they go up against him.

He also reads the game well, which allows him to get into good positions all over the pitch to cut out danger before it develops into something which affects the team.

The job for Brendan Rodgers over the rest of the season is to work out whether he’s going to be left in a role across the backline or whether he’s going to be moved forward and back into a position protecting the club’s back four.

If it’s not broken don’t fix it but there was evidence of what the German is capable of when he plays centrally last night and he seems capable of summoning the spirits of former Liverpool players Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano.

Here’s what Liverpool fans on Twitter made of Can’s performance last night.
