Derby chief Sam Rush sends out message to the club's fans

Derby County chief executive Sam Rush has called on fans to get behind the team.

Derby County chief executive Sam Rush sent out a determined message to the club’s fans via the Derby Telegraph.

Rush is full of confidence over what the Rams can achieve this season and has urged supporters to get behind the team for the rest of the season.

“The message now is – let’s get down to the iPro Stadium, let’s get behind the team, let’s get behind the club,” said Rush.

“Put all your Saturday plans on hold or Tuesday night plans on hold for the next three months and let’s have an exciting finish to the season.”

Derby are in great form in the race for promotion to the Premier League and well placed alongside Bournemouth.

There are going to be plenty of big games for the team over the rest of the season and Rush is spot on to call for help from fans.

The fans can help at home and away in a number of ways with the most obvious being their ability to create an intimidating atmosphere for Derby’s opponents.

There are also going to be challenges for the club in terms of how they respond when they go behind in difficult games over the rest of the season.

The fans can help the side pick themselves up if they go behind early in games and can give players a lift when it could be easy for them to let their heads drop.

Derby are staring at something special under Steve McClaren, they added well in the transfer window and they now need to back that up with some physical success.
