Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina has spoken to the club’s official website of his admiration of Hugo Lloris.
France international Lloris is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League, and it seems that he has made an impression on Ospina.
“In Europe, I’ve always admired Iker Casillas,” the 26-year-old told Arsenal’s official website. “There’s Manuel Neuer now, who’s a great goalkeeper, and Buffon. You try to emulate them - they’ve won lots of titles playing for massive teams.
“There are some very good goalkeepers in the Premier League, too. There’s De Gea, Hugo Lloris, Hart - they’re great keepers who’ve proved their worth over the course of many seasons and are continuing to do so now.”
Ospina himself is a very good goalkeeper, and his public admiration of his rivals is truly refreshing, especially as one of them is a Tottenham player.
Arsenal and Tottenham are fierce North London rivals, and will confront each other at White Hart Lane in the Premier League on Saturday.
Interestingly, in the three Premier League games that the Arsenal summer signing has featured, he has not conceded a single goal, while making an average of just over two saves per game.
Arsenal are currently fifth in the Premier League table with 42 points from 23 matches, while Tottenham are two points behind in sixth.
