Tom Ince comments on what's impressed him about Derby

Tom Ince has suggested what's impressed him about new club Derby County.

Tom Ince has told the Derby Telegraph what’s impressed him most since joining the club.

Derby did well to secure Ince on a loan deal from Hull City on transfer deadline day earlier this week and he’s been left purring over the club’s passion.

“You can see there is a desire within the club to get to where they want to go. Being given the opportunity to be a part of a promotion push is fantastic for me,” the midfielder told the paper.

“Why Derby? Every time I have been here as a player I’ve always had a bit of a spanking.”

The Rams are in a great position as they look to push on over the rest of the season and secure promotion into the Premier League.

Derby are matching the pace of Bournemouth at the top of the table, currently only second in the table because of goal difference.

Steve McClaren is a good experienced figure to have guiding the side towards the top flight and he can play on the desire from the players to get the most out of them in big games.

His challenge in terms of the passion coming from his players is making sure that it doesn’t get the better of them.

It can be tempting for players to fly into challenges and overuse that passion in big games, but McClaren seems to have got a good measure of it at the moment.

Ince’s main job will be to make the most of his chances when he gets game time and he needs to show the same desire he’s been impressed by, if Derby are to achieve their man aim at the end of the season.
