The departure of Harry Redknapp from Queens Park Rangers is likely to have pleased Adel Taarabt, who may finally have a chance to break back into the first-team fold at Loftus Road.
Taarabt and Redknapp had a public dispute earlier in the campaign and, although the pair claimed to have resolved their differences, the Moroccan has barely been given an opportunity this term.
Taarabt has made just five appearances since the start of the campaign, but he may well believe that he has a chance to shine now Redknapp has departed.
Les Ferdinand, who is in temporary charge of the team, is known to be a big fan of the attacking midfielder's talents and there can be no questioning that, on ability, he should be in the side's starting line-up.
Taarabt remains one of the most talented players at the club, but his personality clash with Redknapp has clearly impacted on his opportunities to play for the first team.
With a fresh start now available to him though, he may see this as the ideal chance to prove his former manager wrong and show R's fans exactly what the team has been missing this season.
Tim Sherwood, who looks likely to takeover at the club, has shown in his brief managerial experience at Tottenham Hotspur that he is not afraid to bring players in from the cold and he could benefit from doing so again if he does take over.
Sherwood managed to get the very best out of Emmanuel Adebayor during his time at White Hart Lane, after the Togolese forward had been ostracised by Andre Villas-Boas, and if he can have a similar effect on Taarabt it could be vital as the side look to avoid the drop.
