Statistic: Barcelona’s Lionel Messi leads Europe’s best in diverse goalscoring

The Argentine forward is the only player in Europe’s top five divisions to score eight or more goals with both his left and right foot.

Lionel Messi has stated 2015 in fine form, with the Barcelona attacker netting nine goals in his first seven starts for the Catalan club since the turn of the year.

Although Cristiano Ronaldo still heads the La Liga goalscoring charts, the Argentine has scored more goals in open play than the Real Madrid star.

Another amazing statistic that shows the mix of Messi’s goals and the fact that he can net with either foot can be seen below.

The Barcelona man is the only player in La Liga, the Premier League, Bundesliga, Serie A or Ligue 1 to net eight or more goals with both his right and left foot.

After losing out on the Ballon d’Or award to Ronaldo for the second consecutive year, Messi has started 2015 in better form than the Portuguese star and is clearly motivated to lead the Camp Nou side to silverware this term.

While Ronaldo is suspended for Madrid’s clash with Sevilla tonight, Messi has the opportunity to further his goal tally when Barcelona travel to San Mames to take on Athletic Bilbao at the weekend.
