Report: Two clubs linked with loan move for Newcastle's Adam Armstrong

Newcastle United youngster Adam Armstrong could leave the club on loan.

The Chronicle claims Blackpool and Coventry City are chasing deals for Newcastle United youngster Adam Armstrong.

The paper claims that the 17-year-old forward could leave the Magpies when the loan window opens later this month.

Armstrong has shown remarkable progress during his career to reach a point where he’s become an important first team squad option for the club.

However, John Carver may feel that a loan spell in the Football League is more beneficial for him and Newcastle.

It would allow him to play more frequently than would be the case if he stayed at Newcastle United and would also provide the possibility for him to become a stronger player in terms of his physical ability and size.

It’s difficult to judge which side has the edge in the race to sign him because Blackpool have struggled in the Championship while Coventry play in a lower division.

Coventry have also been struggling in League One this season but they may have the edge if Carver feels Armstrong would be better served at a club with an arguably better chance of staying up in their division.
