Derby County boss Steve McClaren has recieved positive injury news on two players.

The Derby Telegraph has reported a double fitness boost for the Rams ahead of the game against Bolton Wanderers this weekend.

The paper claims that an injury to Jake Buxton is not as bad as first feared after he was forced off during the game against Cardiff City.

The paper also claims that Raul Albentosa has recovered well after feeling tightness in both hamstrings after his early appearances for the club.

The news takes some of the pressure away from manager Steve McClaren who may have been wondering how he was going to structure his backline this weekend.

The side have shown versatility in recent weeks with a three man system at the back, which McClaren could continue to show over the rest of the season.

However, it’s not all been roses and sunshine because the Derby Telegraph also suggests that Mason Bennett will be out of action for around four weeks after picking up a problem in the club’s last under-21 game.

The temptation for McClaren will be to get his defensive men back into the team as quickly as possible, but he’s unlikely to take any risks.
