Manchester City morning round-up: Report names Dzeko as star to be dropped from Champions League squad

A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester City.

The Daily Star has reported that Edin Dzeko is the player facing the chop from Manchester City’s Champions League squad.

The arrival of Wilfried Bony means that someone has to make way for the Ivory Coast star to come in.

The Star suggests that right-back Bacary Sagna was the other option, but claims it’s Dzeko who will be forced to make way so that Bony can come in.

Fernandinho has told the Daily Express that he and his teammates have got their confidence back.

City played well to secure a point in the important clash against Chelsea last weekend.

The midfielder says his side need to take a solid defensive approach into every game they play for the rest of the season.

ESPN claims Manchester City are considering a move to sign Burnley striker Danny Ings.

Ings is out of contract at Sean Dyche’s club at the end of this season and could move as a free agent.

Ings has scored seven goals for Burnley so far this season.
