Luton Town manager John Still has been talking to Luton Today about why he signed Tottenham Hotspur youngster Nathan Oduwa on loan.
The 18-year-old, who can play up front or on either wing, arrived at the League Two side until the end of the season on transfer deadline day.
He has previously scored two goals and provided four assists in eight under-21 matches for Tottenham and this is his first chance to show what he can do out on loan. And now Still has revealed exactly why he opted for the exciting teenager.
“We looked at quite a few options but I knew the type I wanted,” the Luton boss said.
“I wanted them to have a little bit of pace, that was the key for me, that little bit of extra pace.
“Nathan’s pace is a real asset.”
Luton are currently flying high in League Two, in fourth place and just four points behind current leaders Shrewsbury.
Now it is up to Oduwa to take his opportunity, both to help repay the faith Still has shown in him and in an attempt to impress Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino from afar.
If he can do that, having seen the likes of Nabil Bentaleb, Harry Kane and Ryan Mason blossom at White Hart Lane, who is to say he could not do the same?
