The former Tottenham midfielder made the comments on Monday evening just before the North London outfit confirmed the signing of the youngster from Milton Keynes Dons.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ Deadline Day show, former England international said: “I watched him earlier in the year in the Capital One Cup game against Manchester United, and straightaway I liked him.
“I like his style: he is aggressive, he has got 12 goals from midfield, and if I were a top-six team in the Premier League, I would certainly sign him. He is certainly one for the future. I really like the way he plays.”
Alli is indeed a brilliant young footballer who has scored 12 goals in 27 League One appearances so far this season.
Such was the form of the youngster in January that he has been nominated for the League One Player of the Month award (click here to read more).
The teenager plays a Ryan Mason-like role in the MK Dons midfield, and it is a great move from Tottenham to loan him back to the The Dons.
At Stadium mk, Alli will continue his development and play in the first team, and will be ready to step up to the Tottenham side for next season.
