Arsenal star Danny Welbeck reportedly fit for North London derby - impact for Tottenham Hotspur?

Danny Welbeck is fit to play for Arsenal against Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby on Saturday, according to a report.

Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck has been passed fit to face Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Saturday, according to The Mirror.

The report claims that the England international has returned to full training with the Gunners and will be in the squad for the North London derby at White Hart Lane.

The 24-year-old former Manchester United striker, who joined Arsenal in the summer transfer window, has been out for a month with a thigh injury.

What does this mean for Arsenal?

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger will certainly welcome the return to full fitness of Welbeck.

The Englishman has not exactly been in great form in recent months after a strong start to the season for the Gunners, but he adds to a strong frontline for the North London outfit.

Given Olivier Giroud’s recent form and the return to full fitness of attackers Theo Walcott and Mesut Ozil, Arsenal have not missed Welbeck much.

However, if the striker is on the substitutes’ bench against Tottenham, then it will boost Arsenal’s chance of a win as he could be brought on in the second half to make an impact.

What does this mean for Tottenham?

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino will probably not be too concerned with Welbeck, especially as the Arsenal striker is unlikely to start.

However, the Argentine boss could do well to draw up a strategy to negate the England international if he does come on as an impact sub.
