Arsenal have confirmed their PFA Fans’ Player of the Month for January and perhaps surprisingly it's not top scorer Alexis Sanchez.
The former Malaga man won the award in December and made it two in a row as he beat off strong competition from teammate Alexis Sanchez.
The Chilean international Sanchez may have been the Premier League’s outstanding buy in the summer – scoring 12 goals and adding a further seven assists in 20 starts.
However, a number of his goals have come as a direct result of Cazorla’s intricate midfield play and the club’s form over the past six weeks has subsequently improved greatly.

As per the table provided by Opta, the 29-year-old was sublime in the three matches he started, both from an attacking perspective and defensively – no more so than the Gunners’ 2-0 win at Manchester City.
Cazorla found the net on one occasion from four shots and created six goal scoring opportunities throughout the month, two of which ended up with the ball in the back of the net.
In possession he was superb, recording 171 accurate passes and completing a highly impressive 15 successful dribbles.
Yet, arguably his most impressive statistic for the month is his whopping 27 ball recoveries, illustrating how hard he is working for the team and his ability to press the opposition out of possession.
Boss Arsene Wenger will be hoping Cazorla can maintain his wonderful recent performances and the Frenchman will be looking to the Spaniard for inspiration in this weekend’s North London derby at Spurs.
