Newcastle United have allowed five young players to move on loan to Rangers, in a spectacular deadline day deal.
Haris Vuckic, Gael Bigirimana, Kevin Mbabu, Remi Streete and Shane Ferguson all completed switches from the Premier League side, to strengthen Rangers, who under performed in their recent Scottish Cup semi-final clash with Celtic.
To see so many players switch from one club to another at once is rare, and certainly got fans talking.
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley is involved with Rangers, recently helping the club out with a different kind of loan of £10 million reported The Telegraph last week.
Even the combined transfer value of the five prospects would not fetch that amount, but their experience north of the border could be invaluable for each of their development.
The odds would suggest not all of the quintet will be successes, but there's certainly more chance of helping Rangers out by sending five than sending one.
