Celtic managed to keep hold of Virgil van Dijk in a productive transfer window for the Scottish champions.
Celtic had an excellent transfer window, bringing a number of new players to Parkhead, but their stand-out piece of business was keeping Virgil van Dijk.
The likes of Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven both completed moves to the Bhoys on deadline day, raising excitement levels at the club.
However, their ability to keep hold of Van Dijk was more important than any signing and it also made a statement of intent.
Van Dijk has been linked with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal by the Daily Mail in recent times, but Celtic held on to their prized asset and will undoubtedly benefit from him staying.
Ronny Deila's side are gunning for the domestic treble, while they still harbour ambitions of reaching the latter stages of the Europa League.
If they are to do so they will need all of their key players available to them, and having Van Dijk's future secured is an indication of their ambition.
The Dutchman is set to be vital for the side until the end of the campaign and by keeping him around they have certainly increased their chances of success in every competition they hope to win this season.
The next task will be keeping him beyond the summer...
