Newcastle United forward Adam Campbell has sent a tweet to the five Magpies youngsters who joined Rangers on loan this month.
As reported by the BBC on transfer deadline day, Newcastle sent a quintet of players to Scotland to continue their footballing education, with Gael Bigirimana, Haris Vuckic, Kevin Mbabu, Remie Streete and Shane Ferguson all heading to Ibrox.
Rangers are currently second in the Scottish Championship, with 41 points from 20 matches.
They are a full 16 points behind leaders Hearts and the new additions from Newcastle will be looking to fire Rangers closer to the top spot in what remains of the campaign.
Following the news, Newcastle’s Campbell took to Twitter to write the following message to his temporarily departed young teammates:
“All the best to the boys up at Rangers. Do your thing troops.”
While plenty of Newcastle’s young players will now be hoping to show what they can do in Scotland, Campbell is a little closer to home as he seeks to impress Newcastle’s new head coach John Carver.
Campbell is currently on loan at Gateshead and it will be interesting to see how all the Magpies’ loanees get on in the months ahead.
