Irish winger Michael Duffy admits Celtic transfer is a 'dream' after deadline day move

Derry City winger Michael Duffy revealed his delight at joining Celtic.

Celtic fans may have been focusing their attention on signing Dundee United duo Gary Mackay-Steven and Stuart Armstrong, but it appears that the club have been working on another deal too.

Recent trialist Michael Duffy appears to have completed a move to Celtic Park, even if the club haven't yet confirmed that deal.

On Sunday, Derry City chief executive Sean Barrett told STV that Celtic had finally agreed a deal to sign Duffy, almost a month after he featured in a trial game against Newcastle.

Duffy scored twice in that game, but a transfer has been a long time coming, with the 20-year-old seemingly sat waiting for Celtic to secure the move.

Now, it appears they have, and whilst fans are still awaiting official confirmation, Duffy took to Twitter to celebrate the deal on deadline day.

Duffy, who hit 16 goals in 39 games for Derry City, posted a message on how it's a dream to play for Celtic, and how he can't get wait to start his career in Scotland - suggesting that his move is all wrapped up, even if Celtic have yet to communicate that.
