George Thorne reacts to signings of Thomas Ince and Jesse Lingard

Derby County Huddle

George Thorne welcomes Thomas Ince and Manchester United-owned Jesse Lingard to Derby County, and congratulates Tottenham Hotspur-owned Dele Alli.

Derby County midfielder George Thorne has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his backing to the club’s transfer deadline day moves.

Championship outfit Derby signed Thomas Ince and Jesse Lingard in the final hours of Monday to reinforce their squad for the second half of the 2014-15 season.

The Rams recruited Ince from Premier League club Hull City on loan for the remainder of the campaign, while bringing in Lingard from European giants Manchester United on a similar deal.

The 23-year-old Ince knows the Championship inside out, while attacking midfielder Lingard is one of the better young players in England.

Thorne, who himself is only 22 years of age, is delighted with the arrivals of the duo and hailed Derby’s decision to sign him.

Ince has long been considered as a player with a bright future, but things have not quite turned out greatly.

The former Liverpool prospect has struggled to make an impact in the Premier League, but he has natural talent which could prove to be useful in Derby’s cause to finish in the top two of the Championship this season.

Lingard has struggled to break into the United first team, but his flair and youthful vigour will also be important as the Rams look to return to the English top flight.

Another young player who was active on transfer deadline day was Dele Alli. The 18-year-old moved to Tottenham Hotspur from MK Dons, but he will remain on loan at the the League One club for the rest of the season.

Thorne congratulated the teenager on his move to Spurs on Twitter.
