Abdoun completed a move to the Belgian side earlier this afternoon and Forest supporters are unlikely to miss him, judging by the reaction on social media site Twitter.
The Algerian international was brought to the club back in 2013, but he has failed to make a positive impression and fell completely out of favour under Stuart Pearce's stewardship.
Pearce, who has recently been sacked as Forest boss, did not play Abdoun once during his time at the City Ground, but new manager Dougie Freedman was clearly not too keen at taking a closer look at the attacking midfielder.
Instead, Freedman's first move as boss at the Reds has been to move Abdoun on and he has immediately increased his popularity, as a result.
The fact that Abdoun has been so badly ostracised arguably says more about his attitude than his ability.
The 28-year-old would likely have been handed a chance had he been a hard-worker, considering Forest's struggles, but he hasn't applied himself enough to make a success of his time at the club and a permanent move is more than likely to occur in the summer.
Here is the best reaction from Forest fans on Twitter to Abdoun's transfer.
I'll say one good thing about Freedman. He's already got rid of that waster Abdoun. #nffc— Hannah Dexter (@hannahforest) February 3, 2015

For freedman to loan out Abdoun before he's even got on the training ground proves it wasn't the managers fault of the poor form #nffc— Liam Evans (@liamevansnffc) February 3, 2015
Abdoun sent out on loan before Freedman takes his 1st training session tells us that the issue wasn't with the previous manager #NFFC— Matt Davey (@MatttDavey) February 3, 2015
Good news Abdoun has gone one less 'saviour' the clowns can call upon when we lose a game #nffc— Chris B (@batesy7891) February 3, 2015
Freedman is a genius. He's already managed to get rid of Abdoun. Superb start! #nffc— Warren Allsworth (@warrenallsworth) February 3, 2015
