Forest fans react to Abdoun's departure on Twitter

Nottingham Forest supporters are pleased with the news that Djamel Abdoun has left the club.

Nottingham Forest supporters have been left delighted by the news that Djamel Abdoun has left the club to join Sporting Lokeren on loan until the end of the season, confirmed by the club's website.

Abdoun completed a move to the Belgian side earlier this afternoon and Forest supporters are unlikely to miss him, judging by the reaction on social media site Twitter.

The Algerian international was brought to the club back in 2013, but he has failed to make a positive impression and fell completely out of favour under Stuart Pearce's stewardship.

Pearce, who has recently been sacked as Forest boss, did not play Abdoun once during his time at the City Ground, but new manager Dougie Freedman was clearly not too keen at taking a closer look at the attacking midfielder.

Instead, Freedman's first move as boss at the Reds has been to move Abdoun on and he has immediately increased his popularity, as a result.

The fact that Abdoun has been so badly ostracised arguably says more about his attitude than his ability.

The 28-year-old would likely have been handed a chance had he been a hard-worker, considering Forest's struggles, but he hasn't applied himself enough to make a success of his time at the club and a permanent move is more than likely to occur in the summer.

Here is the best reaction from Forest fans on Twitter to Abdoun's transfer.
