Ex-Liverpool target Arda Turan ‘ready for a move’ from Atletico Madrid

The Turkey international’s agent has suggested that the winger’s future may well be elsewhere ahead of next season.

Arda Turan has been a critical part of Atletico Madrid’s rise to prominence, both in Spain and on the continent, and was being heavily linked with a move to Liverpool last year.

Back in 2010 the Anfield club were suggested to be tracking the Turkey international for a prolonged period, while the then Galatasaray attacker stated that he was a Liverpool supporter and to move to Merseyside would be a dream.

However, Liverpool’s ears may well prick up at the latest comments from the star’s agent, who has stated that Turan could well leave the Spanish capital in the summer.

“At the end of the season, Arda Turan will be 28, it is the right time for a transfer,” Ahmet Bulut told Mundo Deportivo.

“That is what we think. The transfer should be made to one of the top eight teams in Europe. If not, no.”

Turan is a virtual ever-present in Diego Simeone’s selections when fit and has started 17 La Liga games this season, scoring two goals.

His versatility means that he can play on either flank and has proven himself as possessing excellent vision and an array of passing over his four years at Atletico.

With Liverpool having the likes of Phillipe Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Raheem Sterling in their squad it now remains to be seen where Turan would fit in however.
