Everton signed Aaron Lennon on loan from Tottenham Hotspur for the rest of the season on Monday.
The switch was confirmed late in the transfer window, with BBC Sport reporting that Hull City, Stoke City and Queens Park Rangers all were interested in the pacy winger.
Lennon has been on the books of Spurs since 2005 when he moved to the North London outfit from West Yorkshire club Leeds United.
The England international has struggled for playing time at Spurs so far this season, managing to make only nine appearances in the Premier League.
Everton needed a winger with pace and Premier League experience, and the move seems to be a good one for all parties involved.
Lennon would have struggled to play regularly at Spurs if he had remained at White Hart Lane for the rest of the season, and he can now start to get back into his old form.
After the announcement was made, Everton and Tottenham fans took to social networking site Twitter to have their say.

So we have Aaron Lennon. I'm pleased. Now there's competition with Seamus Coleman. Not for a place but for who's the funniest runner #efc— Mark Palmer (@Marksixtysix) February 3, 2015
