Confirmed: Manchester United line-up v Cambridge United

Here is the side Louis van Gaal has named for Manchester United this evening.

Manchester United: De Gea; McNair, Smalling, Evans, Rojo; Blind, Fellaini, Mata, Rooney; Di Maria, van Persie

Subs: Valdes, Jones, Valencia, Herrera, Young, Falcao, Wilson

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal would have been shocked that his team couldn’t get over the line in the first game against Cambridge United, with a 0-0 draw prompting this FA Cup replay.

United are the massive favourites heading into the game and will name a strong side regardless of how many changes the Dutchman makes.

It will be interesting to see how United go about getting a win, but they will back themselves to have better quality in all areas on a large pitch at Old Trafford, which they need to take advantage of.

Van Gaal is likely to have stressed the need to guard against complacency in the build up to the game, because should the Red Devils lose it will go down as one of the biggest FA Cup upsets in the history of the competition.

The FA Cup represents arguably United’s best chance of winning some silverware this season, which makes it all the more important for the team to progress through to the next round.
