Bolton Wanderers fans took to Twitter on Monday night to react to the news of Andy Kellett's surprise loan switch to Manchester United.

One of the stranger transfer deadline day moves was certainly the deal which took Bolton Wanderers left-back Andy Kellett to Manchester United on a loan deal for the remainder of the season.

Kellett, 21, has only made four senior appearances for Bolton, and spent three months on loan at Plymouth Argyle earlier this season, playing 15 games and scoring once during his stay with the League Two side.

As part of the deal, 19-year-old United defender Saidy Janko also moved in the opposite direction on the same terms, but it was the Trotters youngster’s switch which was inevitably the major talking point.

Fans at Old Trafford had been hoping for the likes of Kevin Strootman, Marquinhos and Mats Hummels to arrive in recent weeks, so to see a player who only made his first senior start last April become the lone addition was surprising to say the least.

However, Kellett’s first team involvement is likely to be minimal in Manchester, with the Bolton-born prospect thought to have been brought in due to a lack of numbers in the United’s youth team after numerous players were sent out on loan.

Nevertheless, that didn’t stop fans of the Championship club expressing their shock at the move, with the following a selection of the Twitter reactions on the night.
