Arsenal legend Martin Keown has been singing the praises of Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane on BBC Sport.
England Under-21 international Kane has been in great form so far this season and has been one of the best players for Spurs.
The youngster has scored 20 goals in all competitions already, 10 of which have come in the Premier League.
Two of those goals from Kane were against West Bromwich Albion at The Hawthorns on Saturday in a game which Tottenham won 3-0.
Keown, a former Arsenal defender, was following the match for BBC Sport’s Final Score programme and made a very good observation.
"There were a few chances Harry Kane missed in midweek against Sheffield United in the Capital One Cup and you wondered if that would have an effect on him but he just has that confidence to keep trying,” said the former England international.
Keown made the comments after Kane had scored Tottenham’s second goal against West Brom in 15th minute. The youngster added his second from the penalty spot in the 64th minute.
Kane did have chances against Sheffield United in the second leg of the League Cup away from home last week, but he failed to take them.
However, it is a testament to the youngster’s self-conviction and confidence that he keeps on trying for goals and does not give up.
Kane is on a roll at the moment and is understandably high in confidence, and it will be interesting to see how he copes when he goes through a barren spell.
One will then get to know more about Kane’s mettle.
