Arsenal legend Ian Wright has expressed his delight on social networking site Twitter to Wilfried Zaha’s move to Crystal Palace.
The England international re-signed for the London club on a permanent contract from Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
Zaha was on loan at Palace from the Red Devils since the start of the season, having failed to convince manager Louis van Gaal of his importance to the team.
The 22-year-old actually signed for United from Palace in January 2013 and was loaned back to the Eagles for the rest of the 2012-13 season.
The youngster was drafted into the Manchester outfit’s first team at the start of the 2013-14 campaign, but he was considered surplus to requirements by then manager David Moyes and was loaned out to Cardiff City for the second half of the season.
Zaha is now back at Palace on a permanent deal, and former Arsenal striker Wright is delighted with the move.
When United signed Zaha in 2013, he was a hot property in England, but he has failed to reach those dizzy heights since then.
Perhaps the permanent move to Palace will allow the Englishman to regain his old form and take his game to a higher level.
Zaha is a talented winger and is young enough to add more facets to his game. While one could question why he could not form part of Moyes’s and Van Gaal’s plans, there is no doubt that he can still make a name for himself and go on to enjoy a great career.
