Sky Sports News claims Ronald Koeman is close to completing a deal for one of his two January transfer targets, with Filip Djuricic moving on loan.

Southampton are closing in on a deal for Filip Djuricic, according to Sky Sports News, with the 23-year-old set to move to St Mary’s on a loan deal until the end of the season.

The British sports broadcaster previously reported that the Saints were looking to sign the Serbian along with Feyenoord midfielder Tonny Vilhena.

And while there has been no update on the situation regarding the Rotterdam-based star, it is thought that the south coast club are now very close to completing a deal for Djuricic.

A Serbia international with 19 caps and four goals to his name, Djuricic has spent the first half of this season on loan at Bundesliga side Mainz from parent club Benfica.

The attacking midfielder has played 12 times for the German club but could now be on his way to the Premier League with Southampton all set to conclude a deal with O Glorioso for the highly-rated midfielder.

Formerly on the books at Red Star Belgrade and later Olympiacos as a youngster, Djuricic arrived at Benfica in 2013, after impressing with Eredivisie side Heerenveen, where he managed 26 goals in 111 appearances over four seasons.

No confirmation has yet been given on whether Vilhena will follow the Serbian with a move to Southampton.
