According to the Daily Mail, QPR's bid to sign Marseille forward Andre Ayew has been rejected ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.
The R's need attacking additions as we head into the final hours of the transfer window, with only West Ham striker Mauro Zarate signed this month.
Manager Harry Redknapp is known for his deadline day antics, and could be at it again with his pursuit of Ghanaian international Ayew.
Ayew, 25, can play out wide or up front and is out of contract at the end of this season, meaning he will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a team having failed to sign a new deal with Marseille.
With 53 goals and 19 assists in 181 games for the Ligue 1 side, Ayew has attracted plenty of interest, with Tottenham reportedly eyeing a cut-price move to sign him this month, according to Tutto Mercato Web.
That hasn't materialised, and it seems that Redknapp still hoped to bring him to London, only to Loftus Road rather than White Hart Lane.
However, the Daily Mail report that QPR's bid to sign Ayew has failed, leaving Redknapp to look for alternatives with the clock ticking down.
