Celtic are reportedly in negotiations with Kilmarnock over striker Robbie Muirhead.

Celtic are hoping to sign Kilmarnock striker Robbie Muirhead before tonight's transfer deadline, according to STV.

The Bhoys are still working on deals for Derry City winger Michael Duffy as well as Dundee United duo Stuart Armstrong and Gary Mackay-Steven.

However, there could be another deal in the works for Ronny Deila's men, with Killie youngster Muirhead believed to be on their wish list.

STV report that Celtic have opened talks with Kilmarnock over a deal to bring the 18-year-old to Glasgow ahead of tonight's transfer deadline.

The Scotland Under-19 international has scored twice in 22 appearances for Allan Johnston's men, and is highly regarded in Scotland.

Celtic are therefore hopeful of securing a deal for Muirhead, with talks underway between the two clubs as they discuss a deal to take the teenage striker to Celtic Park.

With not long to go, Celtic may be cutting it fine to get a deal done, but Muirhead doesn't project to be a player to make an instant impact this season.

Rather, this is a deal with an eye on the future for Celtic, though the three aforementioned deals for Duffy, Armstrong and Mackay-Steven may take priority in the final hours of the transfer window.
