Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signing of Dele Alli, report The Mail.
The paper claim Alli is booked in to undergo a medical at the club, ahead of his move from MK Dons.
Spurs would loan Alli back to the League One side for the rest of the season as part of the agreement.
Newcastle United are also interested in Alli, who is expected to fetch a £5 million transfer fee, with the same report also claiming they had made a bid.
Alli had last summer been tipped by The Mail to join Liverpool, and he is among the most highly coveted young talents in English football.
The central midfielder is just 18, and is into his second full season as a regular in the Football League.
He has scored an impressive 12 goals in 27 games so far this season in League One, with three assists, and was part of the MK Dons side who knocked Manchester United out of the Capital One Cup.
Alli is an England under-19 international, and if Tottenham can clinch his signature for £5 million, it could go on to be viewed as an absolute bargain.
He would become Tottenham's first signing not only of deadline day, but of the entire transfer window so far.
