Photo: Newcastle's Davide Santon arrives in homeland with exit on the cards

Newcastle United defender Davide Santon has been photographed having flown back to Italy.

Newcastle United defender Davide Santon has been photographed exclusively for Italian Gianluca Di Marzio’s website as the defender arrived in Italy ahead of a proposed move to Inter Milan.

As reported by Sky Sports, the 24-year-old left-back took to Facebook to suggest a loan move back to his former club had been agreed. But the same report states that the Magpies have denied a move has been sealed at this time.

Santon has now been photographed arriving in Milan, suggesting a transfer remains a possibility, if all parties can agree with little time remaining to get things done.

Santon has made 94 appearances for Newcastle, scoring one goal and providing five assists in that time.

Previously he made 52 appearances for Inter and, according to the message that accompanied the Di Marzio-linked tweet, his return to the San Siro will soon be made official.

That said, until there is confirmation from Newcastle United or Inter it appears the deal is still potentially up in the air.
